It finally happened I found a product that was worth Holy Grail status, then something went terribly wrong.
Like many, I took advantage of the Tarte Mother’s Day Sale. It was well worth it. Seven items plus a makeup bag for $75 CAD. The main reason I participated in this sale, was the need for a new mascara. Although, there were about 20 products to choose from in seven categories the Lights, Camera, Lashes 4 in 1 mascara really stuck out to me.
When I applied the product it made my lashes ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! I have never seen them so full and voluptuous in my life and the length was killer. However, when it came time to remove the product I found my eyes were very irritated.
The next morning I woke up to a severe allergic reaction. A doctors visit and two days of missed work later it was determined that the Iron Oxide (Nickle) gave me an allergic reaction. After hours of research, I came to the conclusion that the older Tarte products “mostly” contained this ingredient but the newer products had them removed.
So, in short, this product is amazing but not for everyday use or for everyone. If I wasn’t allergic to one of the ingredients I would keep this in my makeup drawer for special occasions or for long nights out. It has a great staying power but after researching reactions it can be irritating to some.
