(Part Two) Why I Don’t Colour Match With Sephora Online

This is the follow-up to Why I Don’t Colour Match with Sephora Online post.  Long story short, I needed work clothes and was planning on going to the mall (that happens to have a Sephora). Last week I was there and the sample I got were too dark  (colour matched online) and are currently taking up residence in my garbage can.

In my last sample haul, I received Rainforest of the Sea by Tarte, Naked by Urban Decay and Ultra HD by Makeup Forever. For my combination skin, I wasn’t really impressed with the Naked or Ultra HD but I was impressed with the Rainforest of the Sea.

I got the two lightest shade in Rainforest of the Sea because they do not have a large shade range compared to other foundation. In addition to the much raved about Teint Idole by Lancome.

The swatches you are seeing from Right to Left are…

Right – Tarte Amazonian Clay in Light Beige (This is my normal shade).

Second Right – Lancome Teint Idole in 110 Ivoire C.

Second Left – Rainforest of the Sea in Fair Neutral.

Leftest – Rainforest of the Sea in Fair-Light Neutral.

Overall, if you do try to guess your shade online using Sephora I would suggest going a shade lighter. Also, the associates might give you attitude if you want more than three samples.
