I received five of the EOS Sphere Lip Balms in a stocking last year. I can say they do have their pros and cons but you have to be consumer aware when purchasing these drugstore lip balms.
The EOS (Evolution of Smooth) Sphere Lip Balms retail for $3.97 at Wal-Mart. These balls are great for the lip balm enthusiast who always loses their lip balm, because of the ball packaging. This product is made of 95% organic materials and is Phthalate and Petroleum free.
The sphere design makes it easy to coat all areas on the mouth including the inner corners. The plastic lock tight lid means this product will never dry out….even years later.
why do I need to be consumer aware?
Now, this is where you have to be consumer aware as each coloured sphere represents a different issue. The formulas are different for every colour. For instance, the mint flavour (light blue pictured above) represents enriched Vitamin E. Purple (which I thought was grape this whole time) is a passion fruit lip balm, that is the only gluten free sphere of the bunch.
How do they compare?
It all comes down to and your preference.
If you are looking for a cheap buy because you’re having a chapped lip emergency, then this is a good pick up that is widely available. However, there are numerous moisturising options that are 100% natural for $4.97 (I’m looking at you Burt’s Bees).
I find it strange that you would only have one product in your line that is gluten free instead of all of them. But that’s just my opinion.
