The time has finally come – since Elementor raised $15 million, I’ve been waiting for them to launch their own official Elementor Cloud product to go beyond a simple plugin and evolve into a full-fledged website creation solution.

Elementor has already been enriched with features such as full themes, dynamic content, pop-up windows, etc. These features allow you to control almost any part of the screen of your website with a single tool, Elementor Pro. That’s a big part of why we love Elementor Pro so much, and why we use it for design management on WPLift (yes – you’re looking at the Elementor Pro page now).

But so far, Elementor hasn’t been able to help you with the other part of website management – the infrastructure and backend maintenance. It’s not as flashy as glamorous, but it’s even more important than the appearance of your website, because a slow or unreliable website won’t come about quickly.

Elementary cloud changes that. You can now get help with back-end infrastructure and front-end rendering through an Elementor service. This means that you can focus 100% on creating quality websites for your customers and/or growing your own websites.

In this article we will see what Elementor Cloud has to offer. At the time of writing this message it is still in beta, but it should give you a good idea of what to expect and how it can help you.

What is an elementary cloud?

Elementor Cloud is similar to WordPress hosting managed specifically for Elementor websites. Unlike Brizy Cloud, which is separate from WordPress, Elementor Cloud is still based on the complete WordPress software we all know and love.

The only big difference with self-hosted WordPress is that Elementor does all the customization and maintenance for you, so all you have to do is use Elementor Pro to design your site.

Of course, Elementor and Elementor Pro are also pre-installed so that you can start developing your website right away.

What is in the element cloud?

As I said, the elemental cloud consists of two parts:

  • Backbone infrastructure
  • Advanced construction tools

The backend infrastructure uses the same basic resource approach as most managed WordPress hosts, with limitations based on disk space, bandwidth and number of visitors. Here are the current limits from December 2020:

  • 20 GB memory
  • 50 GB bandwidth
  • 25,000 visits per month

This should work for most websites built with Elementor, although of course it doesn’t work for very busy sites.

You can also bring your own domain name and have access to the built-in free SSL certificates. Elementor also backs up your site every 24 hours and you have access to support.

There is also a good option for people who create client sites (which is the case for many Elementor users): when you work on a site, you can make it private and lock it behind the access code. This is useful if you manage a customer site and want to give them access to the site while protecting the site from anonymous visitors.

Elementor Cloud also focuses on three pre-installed tools:

Basically, everything you need to build your website with Elementor is pre-installed.

You can also install your own WordPress plugins (with some restrictions, such as a managed WordPress host).

Can I use other plug-ins with Elementor Cloud?

Yeah! Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah! Unlike other cloud computing solutions, Elementor Cloud remains a fairly complete WordPress solution. This means you can install your own WordPress plugins to work with Elementor/Elementor Pro.

For example, you can install Yoast SEO, Toolset, LearnDash, and so on. Pretty much any plug-in.

However, there are few boundaries.

First of all you can’t use any other plugin for page creation (like Beaver Builder or Divi). I don’t think it’s too complicated because you’re probably installed on Elementor Cloud when you use Elementor Cloud. In fact, it would be weird to sign up for Elementor Cloud if you’re going to use Divi.

Some performance plug-ins can’t be used either – I think it’s because Elementor Cloud already implements these popular performance techniques for you.

Finally, there are some random appearance limitations, such as the inability to use qTranslate X, Image Map Pro or WP Clone.

In general you should be able to use almost any plugin you want.

Cloud element prices

At the time of writing this Elementor Cloud presentation, Elementor has not yet published price information. I think it should be able to compete, in terms of price, with other managed WordPress hosts, but we don’t know that yet.

It also comes with Elementor Pro, which should be even more economical as you no longer need to purchase Elementor Pro separately from your hosting.

We’ll update this section when we know more about the cost of Elementor Cloud.

Frequently asked questions about other elements or clouds

Does Elementor include cloud transit areas?

At the time of writing this message it’s not yet available, but Elementor has this feature in its roadmap, so it’s in the making. I think that’s something a lot of people want, so it’s definitely going to end up in the system.

And don’t forget that it includes a feature that allows you to protect your site while it’s still under development.

Does the primary school make a backup of my website?

No! No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no! You are currently not able to migrate an existing website to Elementor Cloud. It only works for websites you created from scratch on the platform.
