Design and construction
Let’s start with the design: The power supply is rectangular in shape, slim and compact, with rounded corners and a plastic housing. It has a nice carbon fiber structure that looks really top quality.
The quality of the construction is decent and undoubtedly justifies the price. However, the housing can easily be scratched. It is therefore recommended to keep the AC adapter away from keys and sharp objects when carrying it in your pocket or bag.
The best part is that this URBN energy bank is very thin and compact. It measures only 14 x 6.8 x 1.5 cm and weighs 218 g, which is much less than most test benches with the same capacity. Of course the 20,000 mAh option is a bit large and bulky, because it measures 14 x 7.2 x 2.7 cm and weighs 355 grams.
There is a minimum URBN marking on the front panel and four LED indicators on the top panel. Lights flash white (one to 25%, two to 50%, three to 75%, and four to 100%) during normal charging and discharging, but the first light is green when powering on or powering on/off fast charge functions. The battery charge indicator button is located on the right hand side.
At the top there are two USB outputs, both of which support up to 18W Qualcomm QC 3.0 fast charging (5V/3.0A, 9V/2.0A, 12V/1.5A). In addition, there is the USB port type C, which offers a maximum power of 18W (5V/3.0A, 9V/2.0A, 12V/1.5A), as well as QC 3.0 and PD 3.0 support. Yes, you also have a standard micro USB charging port (max 9V/2.0A QC).
The company does not disclose the conversion rate of the energy bank commission. During our tests, however, we found that this URBN energy bank offers a decent conversion rate, just like other energy banks with the same capacity (conversion rate of 68 to 70%). You can easily get 6500 – 6700 mAh with the 10000 mAh option and about 14000 mAh with the 20000 mAh option.
As for the charging speed, this power bank URBN charges very fast, with my 18W QC 3.0 quick charger it only takes 2 hours and 30 minutes to fully charge it. The 20,000 mAh variant takes about 4 hours and 30 minutes.
I tested this power supply with the Oneplus Nord and the Samsung m51 and found that the 18 watt QC 3.0 worked really well. It only takes an hour and a quarter to fully charge your 3000 mAh battery phone (if your phone supports the +18W fast charge). This is the average time, and all 18-watt power banks with QC 3.0 support take the same amount of time.
Yes, it supports PD 3.0 in addition to QC 3.0, so it can also charge iPhones, iPads and even MacBooks quickly and at reasonable speed. Yes, you can also charge other laptops with a Windows compatible PD power supply.
It is best that it automatically detects the device you are plugging in and provides sufficient power. I would like to point out that the power bank does not heat up even after a few hours of use. It also has 12 levels of protection – protection against overcurrents, overvoltages, overloads, overheating, etc. – and is available in different versions.
All in all, this URBN Energy Bank is a real value and offers all the features one would expect from a best-selling 2021 Energy Bank. And that’s why we put him in second place in the list of the best energy banks among the 1,000 rupees. For more information, visit my Youtube channel: .
